Product information

Sawn construction timber

Sawn construction timber is produced from round construction logs, sawn parallel to the trunk axis. It has a minimum thickness of six millimetres and an (approximately) rectangular cross-section.

It may retain residual trunk contours or be cleanly sawn at the mill.

Manufacturing of sawn construction timber

For load-bearing applications — such as building roof trusses — sawn construction timber must comply with DIN 4074 (parts 1 and 5) in Germany. Because this standard is part of the construction regulations and acts as a product standard, load-bearing sawn timber must meet its grading criteria.

Applications

  • Timber structures
  • Timber for load-bearing purposes
  • Sawn timber for carpentry work

Load-bearing sawn construction timber is CE-marked per DIN EN 14081-1.
