HOLZ-BARAN GmbH stands for many years of experience around wooden floors. We produce in our sawmill in Luppa near Leipzig — from the regional oak log to the ready-to-install floor, everything stays in one hand.

True, high-quality solid floorboards from master craftsmanship are more expensive than comparable mass-produced goods. But with good care they bring joy for many decades.
Almost 98% of our products are made from oak. We also work with additional fine wood species:
- Oak — the classic for timeless, long-lasting floors
- Smoked oak — dark, warm appearance through the smoking process
- Red oak — expressive reddish-brown tones
- Ash — light, airy, modern

Which variant suits your room?
Visually solid floorboards and 2-layer boards achieve the same high quality. The difference lies in the construction: solid floorboards are made entirely of one type of wood — they can be sanded several times and last for generations. 2-layer boards combine a stable substrate layer with a high-quality decor layer and are better suited for underfloor heating.

Living rooms, bedrooms & representative spaces
In living and sleeping areas <strong>solid floorboards</strong> develop their full effect — they regulate indoor climate, dampen sound and create a warm, homely atmosphere.
For classic rooms we recommend the <strong>Natural</strong> class with calm grain; <strong>Striking</strong> and <strong>Rustic</strong> add accents in modern-rustic or country-house-inspired concepts.

Combine with underfloor heating
If you rely on <strong>underfloor heating</strong>, 2-layer boards are the better choice: the birch plywood substrate reacts less to thermal movement and guarantees long-term dimensional stability with changing heating phases.
