Oak sawmill offcuts
Brennschnittholz is our term for sawn-timber offcuts. They arise at our sawmill during oak processing and are excellent as fuel.
Oak
Oak is relatively widespread in Germany and grows mostly in mixed forests. It grows slowly, can reach a great age, and is a hardwood. Its wood contains a high proportion of tannic acid and is known for long-lasting durability — which is why oak is popular for furniture, wooden stairs, doors and oak flooring.
Oak as heating material
Oak is highly popular as fuel thanks to its compelling properties. With a high calorific value of around 2,100 kWh/srm, it delivers strong heat output and sustains embers for a long time. It is resin-free, so produces no spark formation.
