Hand planing creates a heavy, uneven structure. Worm-holing replicates historic insect damage for an authentic retro character.

About the Individual Collection
Four hand-finishing techniques — crafted in the manufactory
Individual Collection boards — preserved with high-quality oxidative oil
The wooden floorboards in the Individual Collection have been treated with a high-quality oxidative oil. The oil gives the wood's surface natural protection — it penetrates the pores once applied and hardens naturally through oxygen in the air.
The entire wooden floor is optimally protected. The oil's water- and dirt-repellent properties also protect the wood from environmental and use-related stresses. Nevertheless, the wood can still breathe and continue to improve the room's ambience.
Four hand-finishing techniques
Brushing — on-trend "used" look
Brushing the wood with the grain highlights the grain and growth rings to maximum effect. Depending on the type of wood and its intensity, different surface finishes can be attained. This technique can achieve an attractive antique appearance or an on-trend "used" look.
Planing — individualised rustic look
Planing the floorboards gives the surface a heavily or coarsely structured character. The surface has concise ups and downs or wave-like patterns. This method creates a beautifully rustic and particularly individual look.
Worm-holing — retro-style look
Woodworm holes can be integrated and imitated deliberately in the floorboards of the Individual Collection. Adding imitation woodworm holes can make a new floor look old, antique, used or even retro.
Liming — whitewashed look
Whitewashing the floorboards gives very special visual results. The ideal candidate is our large-pored oak from the Individual Collection. This method fills the pores with a white mass — creating a light patina, an attractive vintage look, a modern "shabby chic" look or the popular whitewashed look.

The Individual Collection floorboards can be rounded off beautifully with our compatible skirting boards. We are happy to offer specialist consultation and will provide appropriate, effective solutions even in tricky cases.
